    academic achievements, and
    social and emotional growth
  • Include each child's parents in
    the process of their education
  • Support the students in being
    healthy, safe role-models of the
    WAYS community and local
    communities around them
  • Teach our students to become
    leaders of their friends, family
    and society at large
  • Empower them to always
    perform their best so that
    when they graduate from
    WAYS they have leadership
    skills to successfully progress
    to middle school
Wisdom Academy for Young Scientists (WAYS) is a LAUSD

elementary charter by LAUSD in South, Los Angeles.

so they may  become our future leaders.

Wisdom Academy for
Young Scientists was
founded by Kendra
Okonkwo, an  urban
educator who has taught
for 22 years in LAUSD,
private
schools, and now
charter schools. Kendra's

to all children in
the surrounding
