W.A.Y.S. Weekly Update

Dear WAYS Community:

Hello.  We just finished a very full week at WAYS.  The fifth grade classes at Manchester and Salvation Army had their final science competition on Tuesday.  Both classes were amazing.  The children were performing at a level way above fifth grade.  The Salvation Army won.

Just four things

This week several parents attended a parenting lecture given by Cheryl Cooley on communicating with your child. We are grateful that she could share her expertise with our other parents.  Lastly, we had our monthly awards assembly on Friday.

This week is all about field trips! Many fifth graders will be spending the week in the mountains at Lake Arrowhead.  Many second graders will be going on an overnight trip to the Long Beach Aquarium.  The advanced 4th graders will be visiting UCLA and the third graders from Ms Gomez’s class will be visiting California State University Northridge and meeting several important people on campus.  We can’t wait to hear from the students about their exciting  adventures.

You may now start signing up online for our Sharefest workday on May 4th at the Kinder site.  Here is the link.  More information will be coming.http://workday.sharefestinc.org/projects/wisdom

Have a wonderful week.
